Chinese EV maker NIO (NYSE:NIO) announced Saturday that it has recorded over a 200% YoY increase in vehicle deliveries for May 2024, a substantial growth compared to its peers Xpeng (NYSE:XPEV) and Li Auto (NASDAQ:LI).
Shanghai-based NIO (NIO) delivered 20,544 vehicles for the month, indicating ~234% YoY growth.
Meanwhile, Xpeng (XPEV) and Li Auto (LI) trailed with 10,146 and 35,020 deliveries, respectively, which implied ~35% YoY and ~24% YoY growth.
NIO's (NIO) May deliveries comprised 12,164 premium smart electric SUVs and 8,380 premium smart electric sedans, and its cumulative delivery figure stood at 515,811 as of May 31.
Meanwhile, Xpeng (XPEV) said its YTD deliveries of smart EVs reached 41,360, implying ~26% YoY growth.
As of May 31, Li Auto's (LI) cumulative deliveries stood at 774,571, including more than 15,000 units of its newly launched Li L6s, which started commercial deliveries on April 24.
