The Fountain Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian, department officials said Thursday.
Police said the crash occurred shortly after midnight Wednesday.
According to police, the crash involved a vehicle and pedestrian near the intersection of Mesa Ridge Parkway and Fountain Mesa Road.
Eastbound and westbound lanes of Mesa Ridge Parkway were closed for several hours, reopening about 4 a.m. Thursday.
The cause of the crash and the victim's identity have not been released.
