Auto theft and related felony charges filed in Madison County - Alton Telegraph

EDWARDSVILLE — Auto theft and other theft-related felony charges were filed in several cases Tuesday by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Crystal M. Young, 36, of the 600 block of North Kansas Street, Edwardsville, was charged Dec. 5 with offenses relating to motor vehicles, a Class 2 felony.

The case was presented by the Edwardsville Police Department.

According to court documents, on Nov. 13 Young was found to be in possession of a stolen 2014 Kia.

She was ordered released from custody.

In an unrelated incident, Paul T. Porter, 45, of Caseyville, was charged with offenses related to motor vehicles, a Class 2 felony.

The case was presented by the Pontoon Beach Police Department.

According to court documents, on Nov. 10 Porter was found to be in possession of a stolen 2019 trailer with a Missouri registration.

He was ordered released from custody.

Separately, James M. Irons, 44, of the 2200 block of Washington Avenue, Granite City, was charged with theft under $500 (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony.

The case was presented by the Collinsville Police Department. According to court documents, on Nov. 10 Irons took a Samsung Galaxy A14 valued at less than $500 from another person.

It was noted he has a prior conviction for theft out of Madison County in a 2019 case.

He was ordered released from custody.

In an unrelated case, William L. Henderson, 38, of the 700 block of Brown Street, Venice, was charged with retail theft under $300 (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony.

The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department.

According to court documents, on Nov. 25 Henderson took a Cooper Evolution Truck Tire valued at less than $300 from the Granite City Walmart, 379 W. Pontoon Road.

It was noted he has a prior conviction for theft out of Madison County in a 2011 case.

He was ordered released from custody.

These individuals have only been charged and remain innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. All charges may not be reported.
