After foot chase, Tasing, man arrested for theft from auto: Lyndhurst police blotter - cleveland.com

LYNDHURST, Ohio --

Theft from auto: Sunview Road

At 5:30 a.m. March 11, a resident reported seeing a male with a flashlight walking around a neighbor’s car. Police arrived and, at gunpoint, attempted to detain the suspect. The suspect responded by running through residents’ yards.

Officers chased the suspect and, when near Kiddie Jungle, 5456 Mayfield Road, Tased him. Police arrested the suspect, a Richmond Heights man, 27, who was found to have entered a car parked in a Mayfield Road lot. The suspect’s bicycle was gathered as evidence.

Police charged the man with theft and resisting arrest.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 5:40 p.m. March 12, police arrested a shoplifter at Nordstrom Rack, 25149 Cedar Road at Legacy Village. The suspect, a Richmond Heights man, 23, was also found to be wanted on a Euclid police warrant.

Euclid police were unable to pick up the suspect, who stole $145.68 worth of clothing and was charged with theft.

Receiving stolen property: Richmond Road

At 4:20 p.m. March 6, police received notification via an automatic license plate reader that a stolen U-Haul vehicle was in the area. Police located and stopped the truck, stolen from Cleveland, on Richmond Road and Donald Avenue in Richmond Heights.

Two people were in the vehicle. Police arrested the driver, a Shaker Heights woman, 28, on a charge of receiving stolen property.

Assist person: Bremerton Road

At 12:55 p.m. March 6, a man reported that he fell victim to an online dating fraud which cost him more than $10,000. The man sought advise from police after willingly sending money to someone he met on an online dating site.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 1:10 p.m. March 7, the manager at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 24545 Cedar Road at Legacy Village, reported that, five minutes earlier, two females ran out of the store with clothing for which they did not pay. The suspects were not apprehended. The dollar amount of the theft was not immediately known.

OVI: Richmond Road

At 5 a.m. March 8, police investigated a one-car crash on Richmond Road, at River Creek Road. It was learned that the driver, a Cleveland woman, 34, was intoxicated.

EMS transported the woman to the hospital, where she was charged with OVI.
