For something that famously hasn't been in stock anywhere practically since its launch, the PlayStation 5 has sold very well so far. A new report in DigiTimes states that 3.4 million units of the up-to-date console have been shipped in the first 4 weeks since its initial launch.
That's not all: the media outlet also now has estimates that indicate Sony will move 16.8 to 18 million units by the end of 2021. This hopeful hint at greatly increased availability may be due to the easing of current issues in its supply lines, which apparently go back all the way to TSMC (the first step in the making of the AMD Zen2-based chipsets on which the devices are based) at present.
Nevertheless, Sony's latest 2020 console-moving figures are impressive, especially in light of its inability to launch the PS5 completely worldwide as yet. For example, it has not done so in India as yet, and is now definitely not going to be able to rectify this until next year.
