Motorola MA1 review: No frills Android Auto — without the wires - Tom's Guide

rest.indah.link

Motorola MA1: Specs

Size: 6.5 x 2.1 x 0.3 inches
Connection: USB-A
Wireless: Bluetooth, 5GHz Wi-Fi
OS: Android 11 or higher

The Motorola MA1 is a solution to a problem that has plagued Android Auto for a while: Despite being available since 2018, wireless Android Auto support is rare. Certainly compared to the more widespread support for wireless CarPlay

So we end up with dongles like the Motorola MA1, which act as a go-between for Android phones and your car’s infotainment system. That way you can use Android Auto wirelessly, without having to plug in your phone every time you leave the house.

As you’ll see from our full Motorola MA1 review, it manages to pull off that task incredibly well. In fact there’s barely any noticeable difference between it and connecting your phone wirelessly.

Motorola MA1 review: Price and availability

The Motorola MA1 is available from Amazon, Target, and Motorola itself for $89.95. However, as of this writing, all three retailers are currently out of stock, with the latter two offering email alerts for anyone that’s willing to wait.

Motorola MA1 review: Design and features

If you thought the Motorola MA1 looked a lot like Google’s Chromecast, you wouldn’t be alone in that assessment. What you have is a small puck the shape of a rounded square, complete with a 3-inch cable and USB-A plug.

The cable is fairly rigid, but is long and  flexible enough for you to position the MA1 to where it won’t bother you.

Also in the box is a small foam sticker, which can be used to attach the puck to any number of surfaces in your car. However you may want to substitute it for something like mounting tape or adhesive putty, since it does have a tendency to unstick from the car.

Finally there’s a single button on the side, which can toggle Bluetooth pairing mode or reset the adapter to factory settings. You only need to concern yourself with this the very first time you connect, though it’s worth mentioning that it can only pair with one phone at a time.

The MA1 uses a mix of Bluetooth and 5GHz Wi-Fi to connect to your phone, the same protocols as any other built-in wireless Android Auto setup. This means your phone registers the connection the same way, so you’ll need a compatible device — one that supports 5GHz Wi-Fi and runs Android 11 or newer. Not that you’ll have any trouble finding phones that have both.

Motorola MA1 review: Setup

Setting up the Motorola MA1 is a fairly straightforward process. The first step is to make sure your phone and Android Auto are all set up, which involves little more than plugging your phone into the car’s USB port.

Once everything is ready to go, and Android Auto is running, you unplug and swap the USB cable for the Motorola A1. Then it’s a case of pairing the adapter to your phone, as you would any other Bluetooth device, and waiting for the wireless connection to initialize.

Motorola admits that it can take a few minutes to initialize the very first time, but future connections will happen much faster.

Motorola MA1 review: Performance

Going in, the main question I had about the Motorola MA1 was “how is this going to compare to a hardwired connection?” I can say with absolute certainty that I didn’t even notice the difference. Wired or wireless, the relationship between my Nissan Leaf and Pixel 6 Pro felt exactly the same.

The Motorola MA1 delivered exactly what was promised, letting drivers retain all the important Android Auto features without having to plug in. No more pulling your phone out of your pocket or bag to get where you need to be. Simply switch on the engine and let the adapter do its thing.

Motorola MA1 synced with infotainment system

All the problems I experienced were problems I’d had with a wired connection — Audible skipping like a cheap portable CD player, the Nissan infotainment system crashing and rebooting mid-drive, or the fact my touchscreen is about as responsive as a dog when it’s time to take a bath.

Of course there are a couple of limitations to consider, both of which stem from the fact that  wireless connections are not as fast or efficient as wired ones. The most obvious one is that the MA1 took slightly longer to initialize than wired Android Auto.

It took Android Auto 18 seconds to launch when I physically plugged my phone in with a USB cable; the wireless connection with the MA1 took around 23 seconds.

Wireless Android Auto has something of a reputation for battery drain, which I could sort of see with the Motorola MA1. In my testing I found that the simple act of leaving my Pixel 6 Pro connected and playing music with the screen off caused me to lose 7% of battery in the space of an hour.

Motorola MA1 is hand sized

That obviously isn’t the worst battery drain in the world, but it’s worth bearing in mind on longer trips. Especially when you remember that wireless connections don’t offer the same recharging capabilities as hardwiring. Sure, you can always plug your phone into a different power source, but that kind of defeats the purpose of a wireless connection.

Motorola MA1 review: Verdict

The Motorola MA1 does exactly what it promises to do, offering wireless Android Auto support in cars that don’t have that capability. And it does that job incredibly well, to the point where you’ll struggle to tell that it’s a wireless connection during use.

On top of that, the dongle design offers a bit of flexibility on where the adapter sits in your car, without losing any performance in the process. While the included sticky pad doesn’t offer the greatest adhesion, that's inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.

I still feel like the MA1 could be a little bit cheaper, but considering the performance I’ve experienced I wouldn’t regret paying $90. If you want a wireless Android Auto connection, you can’t go wrong here. Just be careful you don’t accidentally let your phone’s battery die.

U.S. trade chief Tai says watching union vote at Mexican auto-parts plant closely - Reuters

rest.indah.link

BALTIMORE, Feb 28 (Reuters) - The United States is watching Monday's vote on a new union at Mexico's Tridonex auto parts plant very closely, U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai told reporters, saying the United States had an "outsized interest" in the matter.

"We're watching that vote extremely closely," Tai said after an event at Morgan State University in Baltimore. "We obviously have an outsized interest in terms of what happens, given the earlier agreement that we secured from the company in terms of their participation in future elections."

Nearly 1,700 workers at the Tridonex auto-parts plant are scheduled to vote on Monday on their union representation after two years of campaigning by some workers to replace a union that they accused of failing to push for higher wages. read more

Tridonex in August agreed to ensure worker rights, pay severance and back wages to dismissed employees to settle an early labor rights complaint under a labor enforcement mechanism in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

The AFL-CIO labor organization had filed a complaint with the USTR after Tridonex workers said they were being denied the right to freely select their representation.

Monday's vote will allow workers at the plant in the northern border city of Matamoros to choose between their current union, part of the Confederation of Mexican Workers (CTM), and an independent group, SNITIS.

Auro parts maker Cardone, based in Philadelphia, has said it will be neutral and work with the group elected by workers.

Consumer watchdog fires warning shot to collectors over abusive auto repos as used car prices soar - MarketWatch

As Car Prices Get Higher, Auto Loans Get Longer, And Longer — And Longer - Forbes

rest.indah.link

Borrowers are trying hard as ever, to offset record high prices for new vehicles, by spreading their loans over longer terms.

A longer term produces a lower monthly payment compared with the same amount over a shorter term.

According to Experian Automotive, which recently reported detailed auto finance results for the fourth quarter of 2021, auto loan terms of 73 to 84 months accounted for 33.1% of new-vehicle loans, up from 30.1% a year earlier. That’s a big change, in only one year. Two years ago, it was 29.7%.

How long is an 84-month loan? The last payment would be in 2029.

The problem is, prices have gone up so much due to low supply and high demand, plus the trend towards bigger and more expensive trucks, that the average monthly payment has increased, longer terms notwithstanding.

The average new vehicle loan amount increased 12% year-over-year, to $39,721 in Q4 2022, from $35,421 in Q4 2020, Experian said.

In Q4 2021, the average monthly payment for new vehicles reached $644, up 11%, while the average used vehicle monthly payment was $488, up 17%.

Longer terms also carry a couple of downsides for the borrower. First, in return for a lower monthly payment, assuming the same interest rate, the borrower pays more interest over the life of the loan.

The second downside is that a longer loan term increases how long it takes for the borrower to reach “positive equity.” That’s the point at which the used vehicle is worth more than the remaining balance on the loan.

At that point, the borrower can sell their vehicle, pay off the old loan, and pocket the money; or more likely, apply the value of their trade-in towards another new car.

The opposite is to be “upside-down.” That’s when the trade-in is worth less than the remaining balance on the loan. What often happens then, is that the borrower “rolls over” what they still owe on the old vehicle, adding that amount to the loan for the new vehicle.

That may be OK for borrowers with good credit. On average, auto lenders are limiting the longest loans for borrowers with the best credit histories. But for borrowers with worse credit histories, who already pay higher interest rates, “rolling over” a whole series of auto loans can mean that the old debt never does get paid off, according to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Cup Series qualifying: Austin Cindric wins pole at Auto Club - NASCAR on NBC Sports

rest.indah.link

Daytona 500 winner Austin Cindric continued his momentum by claiming the pole position for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Auto Club Speedway.

Cindric (174.647 mph), driving the No. 2 Team Penske Ford, turned the fastest lap among 10 drivers in the final round of qualifying on the two-mile oval in Fontana, California.

MORE: Cup Series at Auto Club Speedway – Qualifying Results

Those 10 drivers advanced from qualifying sessions within their respective groups, Group A and Group B.

Three drivers spun on their final round attempts, including the last driver to take one, Chase Elliott.

Elliott’s loop around in Turn 4 was one of multiple incidents during Saturday’s practice/qualifying event. In all, 10 of the 36 cars entered for Sunday either spun or crashed.

Not only are Cup drivers and teams re-learning Auto Club after a two-year absence, but they’re also continuing to come to grips with the new Next Gen car. This weekend marks its first appearance on an intermediate-size track.

“It’s certainly been crazy and I feel like I anticipated it,” Cindric told Fox Sports before winning the pole. “It’s such a challenging race track and, obviously, a lot of newness for everybody.”

Qualifying alongside Cindric on the front row was Petty GMS Motorsports’ Erik Jones, who posted a final round lap of 174.157 mph in his No. 43 Chevrolet.

Prior to qualifying were two, 15-minute practice sessions for each group.

MORE: Cup Series at Auto Club Speedway – Practice Speeds

Four notable incidents took place during those sessions, which had windy conditions.

The biggest occurred in the Group A session. Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain went straight into the Turn 4 wall hard, while RFK Racing’s Chris Buescher spun out in the middle of Turns 3 and 4.

Chastain was checked and released from the infield care center. He did not speak with Fox Sports afterwards. The broadcast passed along word from his public relations representative that he had the wind knocked out of him in the crash and that he wanted to refocus on Sunday’s race.

As for Buescher, he did not hit anything in his own incident and later returned to practice.

Also having trouble in Group A were Kevin Harvick and Christopher Bell.

Harvick lost control of his No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford and backed it into the Turn 4 wall in the opening minutes. He was checked and released from the infield care center.

Bell spun in Turn 4 at the end of the Group A session, but did not hit anything.

In Group B practice, Bubba Wallace‘s No. 23 23XI Racing Toyota briefly went sideways in Turn 1 before tagging the wall and spinning down the track. The car sustained damage to the right-rear corner and the rear diffuser.

As Harvick, Chastain and Wallace all went to the garage after their incidents in practice, they were not allowed to make a qualifying attempt.

Green flag for the Wise Power 400 is scheduled for Sunday at 3:47 p.m. ET. Coverage is on FOX.

NASCAR Fontana 2022 picks, Auto Club Speedway predictions, odds, best bets, race lineup from legendary expert - CBS Sports

rest.indah.link

Since last year's race was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Alex Bowman finally gets the opportunity to defend his title when he participates in the 2022 Wise Power 400 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California on Sunday. Bowman recorded his only victory of 2020 and second in the NASCAR Cup Series in this race. The 28-year-old had his best season on the circuit last year, tripling his career wins total by capturing four checkered flags while posting four other top-five finishes.

Bowman is 14-1, while reigning series champion Kyle Larson is the 5-2 betting favorite in the latest 2022 Wise Power 400 odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Three-time winner Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. are 7-1, Chase Elliott is 15-2 and Denny Hamlin is 8-1 among the NASCAR Fontana 2022 contenders. Before locking in any 2022 Wise Power 400 picks of your own, you need to check out the NASCAR at Fontana predictions from SportsLine's Micah Roberts, the legendary Vegas bookmaker who pioneered wagering on racing.

Roberts, a former Vegas bookmaker, was the first to offer expanded NASCAR betting, and now hands out NASCAR winners to his followers on SportsLine. Roberts is the nation's premier NASCAR betting expert, and his top pick, Elliott, won the Jockey Made in America 250 last season.

He also correctly predicted the 2021 Coca-Cola 600 winner, hitting Larson's victory at 11-2 odds. The previous week, he was on point at the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix, targeting Elliott as the winner at 8-5 odds. Anyone who has followed his picks is up huge year after year.

Now, Roberts has analyzed the field and odds for Sunday's NASCAR at Fontana 2022 race and just revealed his picks and predictions. He's only sharing his Wise Power 400 winner and projected leaderboard at SportsLine.

2022 Wise Power 400 expert picks

One shocker: Roberts is fading Truex, even though he's among the top 2022 Wise Power 400 contenders. In fact, Roberts says Truex, who has won just once in 20 Cup Series starts at Fontana, barely cracks the top 15.

"All four of his wins last year came with the 750-horsepower package on smaller tracks," Roberts told SportsLine. "The 7-1 odds offered are comical."

Another curveball: Roberts is high on Bowman, a 14-1 long shot in the latest 2022 NASCAR at Fontana Raceway odds. He did not start his 2022 Cup Series season strong, finishing 24th in the Daytona 500 last Sunday. But Bowman won his penultimate start of 2021 at Martinsville and also took the checkered flag in the last series race that took place on this track two years ago.

"This might be the best value on the board between his Hendrick Camaro and Bowman being the last Cup Series driver to win at Fontana," Roberts told SportsLine. "Bowman led a race-high 110 laps en route to the win before the world shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic."

How to make 2022 Wise Power 400 predictions

Roberts is high on a long shot whose car "makes him dangerous on all tracks." This driver is being seriously underestimated by oddsmakers, and anyone who backs him could hit it big. You can only see who it is at SportsLine.

So who wins the 2022 Wise Power 400? And which long shot stuns NASCAR? Visit SportsLine now to see the 2022 NASCAR at Fontana leaderboard from the nation's premier NASCAR handicapper, and find out.

Colorado sees all-time high for auto theft, up 82% since 2019 - Police News

rest.indah.link

By Morgan McKenzie
Greeley Tribune, Colo.

GREELEY, Colo. — Law enforcement agencies across the state are urging residents to steer clear of leaving vehicles unattended and unlocked after a substantial increase in vehicle thefts within the past year.

In 2021, more Colorado residents than ever experienced some form of auto theft, according to a news release from the Colorado State Patrol.

A 2021 Auto Theft Intelligence Coordination Center Report from the Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority indicated there has been an 88% increase in vehicle thefts since 2017 with 36,932 cases statewide. Colorado has also experienced an 82% spike in vehicle thefts since 2019.

Locally, Greeley and Evans have seen an identical pattern when it comes to auto theft. The Greeley Police Department reported 569 auto thefts in 2021, up from 263 in 2017.

"As you can see, we've seen an even higher increase than the state average — about 116% comparing 2021 and 2017," said Ian Hunt, the department's crime analyst.

The Evans Police Department is facing a similar situation, with department data showing 122 auto thefts in 2021, up from 55 in 2017.

As of Wednesday morning, 32 vehicle thefts have been reported to Evans police this year, according to Rachel Volz, records specialist for the department.

One of the main factors that contribute to the increase of this type of crime is vehicle owner apathy or complacency, according to CSP. Volz said this factor can be seen locally as the recent uptick stems from many owners leaving vehicles running unattended. Similarly, the spike in numbers ties in with owners who leave vehicles unlocked with the keys inside, Hunt concurred.

Leaving a running car unattended, also known as "puffing," has become a major issue as Colorado has shifted into the colder weather months, according to Greeley police.

Although going inside to stay warm with freezing temperatures seems like the ideal option, leaving a running car unattended with the keys inside makes vehicles an easy target for a puffer theft.

Greeley police reported a 447% increase in puffer thefts from June 2021 to January 2022.

Despite the unsettling statistics, Hunt said the department recovered 89% of stolen vehicles in 2021. The Greeley Police Department has two detectives assigned to the North BATTLE Team, a task force dedicated to recovering stolen vehicles and identifying chop shops and vehicle theft suspects.

CSP reported the top "most at-risk" stolen vehicles are the Chevrolet Silverado, Honda Civic, Honda Accord and Ford F series trucks.

Most view a stolen vehicle incident as having one victim: the person whose vehicle is stolen. However, CSP advises stolen vehicle cases should matter to everyone since this type of theft can generate other crimes.

"This is a multi-victim crime that aids other crimes," CSP said.

Oftentimes, stolen vehicles are used to partake in other offenses including drug use or sales, other thefts, armed robberies, burglaries, assaults, homicides and more.

"Have you ever heard the saying, 'Drive it like you stole it?'" the release asked. "Auto thieves drive recklessly with willful disregard to other motorists, pedestrians and laws, speeding excessively, running traffics lights, cutting other vehicles off, passing on the shoulders and attempting to elude law enforcement."

The reckless driving of stolen vehicles thieves can result in crashes causing injury to themselves and others, according to CSP, who calls the actions on the road "completely selfish and dangerous to everyone."

Colorado residents may also fall victim to purchasing a stolen vehicle — losing out on money and a new car. To avoid falling victim to this crime, CSP advises those purchasing a new vehicle to follow tips from lockdownyourcar.org.

Overall, most auto theft crimes, despite the rise in reports, could have been prevented with an owner's commitment to not providing an easy target for criminals, according to the release.

"Everyone wants a safe place to live, commute and play," CSP said. "Please do yourselves, your neighbors, co-workers, friends and your other community members a favor. Take your keys and always lock your vehicle to bring these numbers down and make Colorado a safer place."

Feb 25 (Reuters) - Aptiv Plc (APTV.N) shifted high-volume production of parts for vehicles out of Ukraine over the past couple months ahead of possible hostilities, the auto parts maker's chief executive said.

"Over the course of the last couple of months, we actually moved a couple of what I call high runner programs out of the Ukraine ... just so we were better positioned to manage disruption," Clark said at a Barclays conference on Thursday.

Aptiv swapped in "lower runners" in the place of those programs, he said.

An Aptiv spokeswoman said Clark's "high runner" and "lower runners" comments were in reference to high- and low-volume programs, but declined to comment further.

Houston Area Residents Charged with Unlawfully Possessing Full Auto Switches - Department of Justice

rest.indah.link

A federal grand jury has returned an indictment against the man accused of shooting three Houston police officers as well as several unrelated cases involving unlawful possession of firearms with “Glock switches” or other violations, announced U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery along with Special Agent in Charge Fred Milanowski of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Chief Troy Finner of the Houston Police Department (HPD), Sheriff Ed Gonzalez of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and U.S. Marshal Michael O’Conner of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS).

“The charges announced today are a sobering reminder of the dangers faced everyday by law enforcement officers around this country,” said Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco. “The defendant allegedly shot and wounded three HPD officers with a pistol that was converted into a machine gun. The Department of Justice is focused on taking violent criminals off the street and doing so by working side by side with our state and local law enforcement partners.”

Full auto switches, or machine guns, are most commonly referred to as “Glock switches.”

Roland Caballero, 31, of Houston, is currently in state custody on related charges and will make an appearance in Houston federal court at a later date. He is charged federally with carjacking, discharge of firearm during a crime of violence, possession of a machine gun and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The charges against Caballero allege he was in an altercation with his girlfriend which resulted in a 911 call on Jan. 27. Authorities responded, but he fled, according to the criminal complaint originally filed in the case, and officers pursued. According to the charges, Caballero eventually crashed his vehicle, at which time he shot at and wounded three HPD officers using a pistol modified with a full auto switch.

Caballero then fled the scene on foot and carjacked a nearby vehicle, according to the complaint. However, the charges allege law enforcement located him and a stand-off ensued. He, again, allegedly discharged a firearm at authorities, after which he ultimately surrendered.

The indictment further alleges search warrants conducted at his residence resulted in the discovery of several firearms, ammunition, machine gun components and 3D printers.

In addition to the charges against Caballero, federal grand jury returned indictments on Feb. 16 against 19 individuals for unlawful possession of an unregistered machine gun, possession of a machine gun or being a felon in possession of a firearm. Five of those charged were set to make their initial appearances today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Christina A. Bryan at 2:00 p.m. EST.

Those charges resulted from various traffic stops or responding to scenes, during which authorities discovered the unlawful firearms; through undercover investigations; or as a result of other proactive enforcement efforts.

If convicted of unlawful possession of an unregistered machine gun, possession of a machine gun, or felon in possession Caballero faces up to 10 years in federal prison. Caballero faces a minimum of 30 years up to life in prison if convicted of carjacking with the use of a machine gun. All charges also carry a possible $250,000 maximum fine, upon conviction.

ATF, HPD, HCSO and USMS conducted the Caballero investigation as well as all or some of the other matters with assistance of Galveston Police Department, Harris County Precinct 2 Constables Office, Texas Department of Public Safety and Brazos County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorneys for the Southern District of Texas in the violent crimes section are prosecuting the cases.

An indictment is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

NASCAR weekend schedule: Auto Club Speedway - NASCAR on NBC Sports

For the first time since 2020, NASCAR will go racing at Auto Club Speedway this weekend.

The NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series will both have their second races of the season on the weathered, 2-mile oval in Fontana, California.

Cup rookie Austin Cindric won last weekend’s Daytona 500.

Xfinity rookie Austin Hill won last weekend’s Xfinity opener at Daytona.

For both series, Auto Club Speedway starts a three-race “western swing” that includes stops at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway over the next three weeks. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will join them at Las Vegas.

This weekend also sees the debut of NASCAR’s revamped format for practice and qualifying, as the sport welcomes those sessions back regularly in 2022. For more details, check out our viewer’s guide.

As auto prices soar, more buyers take out 6½- and 7-year loans - CNBC

The surge in auto prices in the second half of 2021 has pushed more consumers to take out auto loans that stretch beyond six years, according to a new report analyzing how millions of consumers finance the vehicles they have purchased.

Credit monitoring service Experian, which analyzes new and used vehicle loans, says more than a third of all new vehicles bought in the fourth quarter were financed with loans that have terms of six-and-a-half, seven or even seven-and-a-half years.

Longer loan terms are one way auto buyers are trying to offset a spike in new and used vehicle prices sparked by the low inventory of new cars and trucks.

"The uptick (in loan amounts) is not solely attributed to inventory shortages, it's partly due to consumers simply buying larger vehicles," said Melinda Zabritski, senior director of automobile financial solutions for Experian.

In the fourth quarter, the average amount financed for a new vehicle loan jumped $4,300 compared with the same time in 2020, hitting an all-time high of $39,721. While consumers have tried to lower their payments by taking out loans with longer terms, the average monthly payment still increased $65 to a record high of $644.

The numbers are the latest indication strong demand and low inventories have combined to drive auto prices much higher. "What I think you are seeing is the general lift from the heavy discounting in 2018 and 2019," AutoNation CEO Mike Manley told CNBC after the auto dealer reported very strong fourth-quarter earnings.

Higher loan amounts and monthly payments are not just limited to new vehicles. Experian says used vehicle prices and loans climbed to a record high with the average amount borrowed in fourth quarter reaching $27,291, an increase of 20%.  The average monthly loan payment is now $488, a record high according to Experian.

Feb 23 (Reuters) - Tenneco Inc (TEN.N) has agreed to be bought by private-equity firm Apollo Global Management Inc (APO.N) for $1.64 billion in cash, the U.S. auto-parts maker said on Wednesday.

Tenneco shares nearly doubled in value and were trading slightly below the offer price of $20 before the bell. They were on track to open at over six-month highs.

This is the second multi-billion dollar deal in the industry in as many days, after Cummins Inc (CMI.N) offered to buy Meritor Inc (MTOR.N) for $2.58 billion.

The auto-parts sector is in focus as it double efforts to supply software and components to an industry that is investing billions to develop electric and hybrid vehicles amid supply chain constraints.

On an enterprise basis, the deal is valued at $7.1 billion after taking into consideration Tenneco's long-term debt of $5.02 billion as of Dec. 31.

Lazard was the financial adviser for Tenneco, while Rothschild & Co, BofA Securities and Citi were financial advisers for Apollo.
